§ 31-6. Fire department accessibility.

  • In order to legally operate in Greene County, regulated businesses that come into existence after the enactment of this chapter must satisfy one of the following criteria:

    (a)

    The main entrance of the structure is located within 500 feet of a pressurized fire hydrant; or

    (b)

    The structure includes a sprinkler system that is fed by a fire department connection (FDC). To satisfy this criteria, the FDC shall be (1) located within three feet of the boundary line of the structure property; and (2) at the point that is closest to the nearest road accessible to the fire department. In the event that there are multiple points on the structure property that are equidistant to the nearest accessible road, the FDC shall be placed at the point which is furthest away from the driveway servicing the structure property.
